About this product
The Pioneer DDJ-SB is a 2-deck USB-powered DJ controller with a built-in sound card. It features 16 pads, loop/sampler and filter effects, 1 mic input, and a 24-bit/44.1kHz audio interface. The double deck design includes pitch control and is compatible with Serato DJ software. Compact and tabletop form factor with analog RCA and 1/4" outputs.
Our take
The DDJ-SB is an oldie but goodie for entry-level DJing. I used it for years – it's robust and reliable. The built-in soundcard works well for basic gigs, and USB power means no extra wall wart. The 16 pads are enough for hot cues and loops. Downsides: it's only 2-channel with no dedicated filter knob (uses software), and the jog wheels feel a bit small. For the price today, it's a great starter controller that teaches you the fundamentals. Just don't expect professional-grade build or features.
